Global hit mobile game, Angry Birds Dream Blast, wanted to create greater brand awareness in Japan across multiple channels and grow the community to keep people updated on new features, in-game events and giveaway campaigns.
Our strategy was to create localized content that clicked with Japanese players, covering language, culture, and gaming tastes. We also set up fun activities such as puzzles, polls, giveaways, and character interviews (lore) to get players chatting and having a good time. Importantly we kept things culturally savvy while building the Japanese community, respecting norms, values, and communication styles.
